Luminox Commando

There’s a reason why Luminox is the watch of choice for so many members of the world’s special forces. Their watches are as tough as can be, offer excellent water resistance, and are highly legible in all situations thanks to their trademark self-powered illumination. And the company’s latest addition, the Commando Raider, may be the most prototypical Luminox watch ever.

Coming in at a 46mm CARBONOX case with a matching CARBONOX unidirectional countdown bezel, the Luminox Commando Raider is meant to withstand a beating. The watch is water-resistant to 200m, and its sapphire crystal is almost impossible to scratch. Time is easily read on the sand-colored dial with military stencil-inspired numerals, and a 24-hour display allows you to track military time or even a second time zone via the Swiss quartz GMT Movement.

A “Night Vision Green” aluminum insert on the bezel displays compass markings, while the dial, hands, and bezel pip are all treated with tritium gas tube illumination that will glow for up to 25 years. Sold on a green or black “cut to fit” branded rubber strap, the Luminox Commando Raider is available now for $595.
