Siin Siin designed ‘fudge up nothing’ interior, a clothing store in kanazawa, japan, including furniture’s design, utilizing local materials.
The designer sought to choose familiar materials from this region in an attempt to provide a new perspective to them; local stone, wood, and aluminum complete the interior of the store, while the ceiling is maintained exposed.
For the design, the designer used more than two tons of Nikka stone from a former quarry in Komatsu city, about 30 kilometres from the store’s site.
In collaboration with Nakajima-san, a stonemason and friend, the designer worked on this material, preserving some of the stones’ original skin. furthermore, closing racks formed by Nikka stone, and bare aluminum pipes decor the interior and generate a balance between them.
